Today, officers responded to reports of four young males collecting money for a “Fun Run” claiming to support a junior champion boxing club. It was confirmed that this was a fraudulent activity, and the individuals were not associated with any registered charity.

The suspects were monitored and arrested by officers.

Advice for the Public:

Always verify the legitimacy of fundraising activities before donating.

Registered charities can be checked via the official Charity Commission website.

If you are approached and feel unsure, do not hand over money and report the incident immediately to the police via 101 or online reporting.

In emergencies or if you feel threatened, call 999.
